Bookbinding

IMG_4154

Been on a four day hand bookbinding course run by Shepherds in London. Thought I would include a picture of one of my finished books. Really happy with the result, it’s even got a built in book mark! (I’m very nerdy I know!). Have five new books now, there’s something really satisfying about hand made stationery.

Have a look at the website if you want, I include the link below

Marian Claydon

Went to the Marian Claydon exhibition at the fashion and textiles museum in London. Little known gem of a Museum, it costs £9 entry and is absolutley tiny. Marian Claydon was a designer who shot to fame with her cool silk tye die prints in the 1960s and 70s, she died in 2015 so the exhibition was held in retrospect to celebrate her work. The silks were beautiful, artworks in their own rights and vibrant. The dresses were glamorous and recalled historical fashion and 1920s flapper dresses as well as being of their time and bohemian. I urge you to go and discover the museum for yourself!

Hello!

My name is Julianne and I’m a third year art student at Newcastle university.
I started this blog as a new way to socialise, as a platform to upload my art onto
and as a place to discuss fashion, beauty, art galleries and even mental health.
Please bear with me as I get used to the website and I hope you enjoy!
